Job Description


This sign-on bonus program is at the discretion of company management, and can be ended at any time. No current Krapf employees are eligible for a sign-on bonus and this program is only in effect for newly hired driver’s.   

We have full- and part-time positions available. Our most success employees will practice safe driving techniques, be a team player and be customer-service minded. To be a candidate, you will need a valid CDL (Class A or B) with passenger (P) endorsement and 2 years of driving experince to be considered.  

Summary of Description: Krapf Motor Coach Drivers are responsible for transporting passengers to and from assigned destinations in a professional, safe, reliable, and courteous manner while maintaining Krapf Core Values…Commitment, Respect, and Excellent Service.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the Krapf Bus Companies vision and mission in all activities.
  • Accept and demonstrate the Krapf Core Values of commitment, open communication, respect and excellent service.
  • Represent the Krapf Bus Companies and conduct all activities in a professional, business-like manner.
  • Comply with all Company employee policies, safety policy and substance abuse prevention policy.
  • Comply with all applicable federal and state regulations regarding operation of commercial vehicles.
  • Safely operate a transit bus on an assigned route as directed. Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism while on the road.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections as required by DOT regulations.
  • Report mechanical defects to the appropriate shop personnel.
  • Maintain, read and understand route sheets including time changes.
  • Maintain scheduled route to established time and mileage. Immediately notify supervisor of changes/delays.
  • Maintain control of passengers at all times to insure safe operation of vehicle. Record and report incidents/problems through appropriate procedures established by the Company.
  • When transporting special needs/exceptional passengers, manage care and behavior within guidelines established by state.
  • Report all vehicle and passenger accidents/incidents to your supervisor promptly and comply with company accident response procedures.
  • Report work-related injuries to supervisor and comply with company workers compensation procedures.
  • Maintain valid driver’s license, physical exam certification and appropriate endorsements.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Comply with company procedures regarding vehicle keys, lock boxes, and video cameras.
  • Attend in-service training and safety meetings as required by federal and state regulations and by the Company.
  • Complete recertification requirements in a timely manner.
  • Keep vehicle clean and orderly on a daily basis.
  • Fuel bus in accordance with terminal standards.
  • Operate vehicle communication systems within guidelines of company policies.
  • Report all personal motor vehicle violations to supervisor, and as required by DOT regulations.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.  

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age and possess a valid commercial driver’s license with valid endorsements.
  • Must meet DOT physical qualifications with or without state approved waivers.
  • Must have a satisfactory motor vehicle record, criminal history record and child abuse history record.
  • Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to manage vehicle and passenger emergencies in a calm, appropriate manner.
  • Must successfully complete International Motor Coach Group (IMG) training
  • Must successfully complete skills and classroom recertification training as required every 4 years.  

Physical Requirements: The requirements below are representative of the physical abilities needed to perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

  • Sitting for 4-8 hours per day.
  • Must pass DOT Physical.
  • Vision adequate for reading traffic signals and signs, maps and schedules.
  • Hearing adequate for general traffic conditions, traffic signals, emergency vehicles and monitoring and using vehicle communication equipment.
  • Range of motion adequate for safe operation of commercial vehicles.
  • Range of motion and sufficient mobility to safely evacuate passengers, including but not limited to access emergency exits via the isles of the vehicle.
  • Repetitive use of hands, arms and legs for operating vehicle controls.
  • Ability to climb steps of bus and sufficient mobility to access vehicle emergency exits.
  • Ability to reach overhead & to shoulder height and to push/pull to clear vehicle of ice and snow.
  • Ability to bend and stoop to conduct vehicle inspections.
  • Ability to push & pull with up to 40 lbs. of force
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
